As I mentioned in last blog entries, I am enrolled in the designing class. We recently did a lesson on drawing patterns. This is very first lesson and we have ways to go to get all the features of design software. I would like to share with you all my very first computer based drawing. I had fun doing it yet it was very tedious to do. I hope it makes sense as well.
I would have loved if my original design was nearly good as my drawing but I will keep trying to get it better. I am optimistic that it is only matter of stitch count and thread tension and everything should fall in place. Although I have not blocked my lace but lot of people mention that helps to settle the lace as well. Either way, I know I need to do the design again....
Best of Best!

Drawing patterns, either by hand or using a computer, is way beyond my capabilities! Good for you, learning something new!
Congratulations! It looks to me like you are off to a good start.
You're doing a WONDERFUL job!! I liked Anika's idea of tatting up bits of rings, chains, or whatever design elements you need in various sizes, laying them out on the pattern (printed at what size you want the finished size to be) and laying out the pieces on it and count what you need - this should get the stitch counts pretty close! I sometimes cut out design elements from a photo of my work then paste them on the new pattern in the computer and actually get it to look like it was tatted - Gets a GREAT view of negative space, etc!! I'm a graphics geek on the computer, though, and spent DECADES doing this :-) Hang in there, you're off to a FABULOUS START!! I'll try your pattern when I finish the several things I already have started! Hugs, Tatikan/Sher
Thanks all you lovely ladies!!! You encouraging words are highly appreciated and most needed by me...
Great job! I don't think I will ever be able to do that. You have to be an artsy person & that you are!
